Join us on a great tour to Kizimkazi village, which is on the southern coast of Zanzibar and is the best place to see dolphins there. You may see both bottlenose and humpback dolphins there. Dolphins use the shallow coastal waters of Kizimkazi for a consistent food source while nursing their calves, resting, and socialising.
There are also some shyer humpback dolphins who come here on occasion, but their timetable is a bit more irregular. The best time to go on a dolphin tour is in the morning, before the sun comes up and warms the water. The dolphins dive deep in the afternoon to avoid the heat. For clients staying in a Stone Town hotel or farther out from Kizimkazi, we will pick you up from your hotel at the time we have advised and arranged.
The dolphin expedition lasts two to three hours. Although dolphin spotting is a popular sport, sightings are not guaranteed, and sometimes seeing the dolphins requires time and patience since they are in their natural habitat.
Kizimkazi is also home to the oldest sign of Islam in East Africa, a mosque built in the 12th century. Both culturally and historically, it is a place worth visiting. The dolphin tour may be coupled with the Jozani Forest and Butterfly Center Tour if the visitor agrees, since it is on the way back from the Kizimkazi Dolphin Tour.
