Your safari will begin with an early morning ferry ride from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where you’ll meet your driver guide and continue on to the Selous Game Reserve. Due to the long drive to Selous, you will arrive after lunchtime and then spend the afternoon on a boat trip down the Rufiji River. In order to satisfy their thirst, crocodiles, hippos, and other creatures gather here. If you’re fortunate, you may see crocodiles stalk their prey in this river. Accommodations and a meal at the lodge
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast, then pack a picnic lunch and go off for a day of game viewing. Take in the beautiful scenery of the Selous Game Reserve and keep your eyes open for any wildlife you may have missed. The vast wildness of Selous and the sweeping savanna plains of Africa are about the size of Switzerland. Keep an eye out for a wide variety of species, such as African wild dogs, elephant herds, giraffes, and a whole lot more. Have your lunch in the woods and take in the beautiful scenery of the park.
After that, you’ll go on a guided walking safari across the park’s savanna to get up-close and personal with the local flora and fauna. Everything mentioned above, including dinner and lodging at the lodge, will be provided.
For a chance to view more wild wildlife in the park, get up early and go for a stroll through the park. After breakfast and a packed lunch, you will drive back to Dar es Salaam via Kibiti road. There, you will be in time to board a boat back to Zanzibar, ending your Tanzanian wildlife safari.
