2 Days Selous Game Reserve Fly – In Safari

Overview

Recently formed in a portion of what was once known as the Selous Game Reserve, Nyerere National Park currently goes by that name in honour of the late father and founder of the nation (Mwl. Nyerere). It was established in 2019, and at over 30,000 square kilometres, it’s Africa’s biggest national park.
The park is home to the greatest number of elephants in all of Tanzania, as well as a plethora of other animals, including lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffalo, and hippos. The bushbuck, red duiker, blue duiker, eland, hartebeest, hyena, giraffe, reedbuck, impala, waterbuck, and zebra are just some of the more frequent animals you could spot.
The park offers the most diverse range of safaris of any location. You can go on romantic boat safaris on the Great Rufiji River, famous fly-camping adventures, beautiful hikes, or play the traditional game of driving through animal habitats with lots of animals.

Tour Plan

01
Day 01 : Zanzibar to Selous

Your safari will begin with an early morning ferry ride from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where you'll meet your driver guide and continue on to the Selous Game Reserve. Due to the long drive to Selous, you will arrive after lunch and then spend the afternoon on a boat trip down the Rufiji River. In order to satisfy their thirst, crocodiles, hippos, and other creatures gather here. If you're fortunate, you may see crocodiles stalk their prey in this river. Accommodations and a meal at the lodge

02
Day 02 : Selous Game Reserve

After a hearty breakfast, you'll go out for a boat safari down the Great Rufiji River to watch the sun come up while looking for hippos, crocodiles, and waterfowl. The flight back to Zanzibar leaves at 10:00, so you'll want to get back to the airport thereafter.
