It is 260 kilometres away from Arusha and takes 4.5 hours to get there. Following breakfast, you will meet with our expert tour guide. He or she will give you a quick safari briefing before driving you west to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara National Park. We will pass via Mto Wa Mbu, an agricultural and fresh product market village at the entrance to Lake Manyara National Park. The town is a souvenir hunter’s dream, with hundreds of souvenir salespeople waiting to pounce at the least invitation.
The Lake Manyara National Park, lying at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment, is one of Tanzania’s most strikingly positioned African wildlife sites. It consists of a vast but shallow soda lake (which covers two-thirds of the park). The park’s diverse ecology draws a diverse range of species, including one of Africa’s most densely populated African elephant herds, Lake Manyara’s famed tree-climbing lions, and vast flocks of flamingos drawn to the lake’s algae. We’ll have a picnic lunch within the park and go on two thrilling game drives in the morning and afternoon in pursuit of the tree-climbing lions. Later this afternoon, you will travel from Lake Manyara for Arusha, where our safari journey will come to a conclusion. The tour will culminate with a fee-based hotel drop-off from our starting location
