Not only is the animal life in the park extensive, but it is also one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and topographically diverse parks. The park’s three most notable features are the craggy Mount Meru (Tanzania’s second highest peak at 4566 m), the strikingly diversely coloured Momela Lakes, and the 3km-wide Ngurdoto Crater, which formed around fifteen million years ago! We will have a picnic lunch within the park and go on a morning and afternoon game drive, viewing both the Momela Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater. African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, and sometimes a rare leopard or hyena may be observed. We travel late in the afternoon to Arusha, where our safari journey comes to a conclusion. The tour will culminate with a fee-based hotel drop-off from our starting location.
