As soon as you land at Entebbe International Airport and make the short walk to the exit, your tour guide will be there to take you to your accommodation for the night. On this day, nothing is to be done.
After breakfast, your knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up and transport you to Jinja City, home to the exciting “Source of the Nile” experience at the now-underwater Rippon Falls. The Nile River’s 4,050 mile stretch from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea begins here. In order to witness the beginning of the Nile, you will take a boat trip there.
Stop at Ssezibwa Waterfalls, which are located along the way and have a river with a tale tied to it about a twin birth, bamboo trees, and traditional shrines. As a bonus, this spot is great for birdwatching since it leads directly to Mabira Forest Reserve. Walk in the great outdoors and experience the thrill of Ziplining in Mabira while hearing incredible stories of how the Ssezibwa Falls were formed in the 16th century. You’ll have lunch in Jinja City before heading to your hotel for the night.
Get up and about while the Nile is still making its bubbly morning noises, and have a simple breakfast before you go out into the day. After arriving at the designated meeting spot, you’ll get a thorough training on White Nile rafting safety procedures and what to anticipate throughout the trip. Spend half a day rafting on the Nile, and then go back to the resort for lunch. Soon after lunch, you’ll be transported to Kapchorwa’s Sipi Falls to witness Sebei dances and listen to tales until it’s time for supper and bed. Abseiling, rock climbing, nature walks at dusk and dawn, a nature walk around Mount Elgon, a cave adventure, a high altitude training facility, and an experience manufacturing honey wine are just some of the a la carte activities available at Sipi Falls.
Following a morning cup of tea, you’ll meet at the designated meeting spot, get a quick rundown of the day’s itinerary, and then set off on foot with your hiking sticks. Three separate waterfalls make up Sipi Falls on the outskirts of Mountain Elgon; trekking to each of the three waterfalls rewards visitors with a distinct, spectacular panorama of the Karamoja plains, Elgon, and Lake Kyoga. You may also do abseiling here, which is a lot of fun.
Your afternoon excursion through the coffee lands will conclude in the early evening, so pack a picnic. This area’s primary cash crop is Arabica coffee. Enjoy the amazing flavour and comforting scent of freshly brewed local coffee as your guide takes you through the whole process, from planting to sipping.
The trip to Uganda’s northernmost and most inaccessible national park, Kidepo, begins with an early morning breakfast. CNN Travel named this park one of the top 10 in the world to visit in 2016 due to the abundance of unique flora and fauna found there.
Kidepo Valley National Park is home to 450 different bird species and 77 different mammal species, including the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah. After stopping for lunch, you’ll continue on to the park. To get some sleep after a long day, you should go in as late as possible.
Have breakfast while listening to the birds sing as you awaken early. The Narus River is only present at certain times of the year, so after breakfast, you may go out on a morning game drive and perhaps see it in action. There will be sightings of at least one of the “big five” mammals. There are many different kinds of large mammals in Africa, including elephants, lions, leopards (very rarely), buffalo, zebras, bush pigs, rohdechild giraffes, elands, jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, and side-backed jackals. Since this valley contains the sole reliable supply of water for all of the park’s wildlife, many creatures naturally gravitate toward it. It’s also possible to see the indigenous Francolin bird here, among the many other avian species. Additionally, there will be many other types of animals to see, such as Nubian giraffes, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, ostriches, and many more. Game drives in the Savannah in this park are a popular activity due to the high probability of seeing well-known animals.
Get back to the lodge for some lunch and a nap. Keep on to the Manyatta Cultural Trail to meet the Karamojong, who are semi-nomadic pastoralists and agro-pastoral herders who have preserved their old way of life; you can expect to learn a lot of interesting facts and see some fantastic art and performances by the IK group. After supper, you’ll be taken back to your lodge for the night.
