Tour Plan

01
Day 01 : Arrival at Entebe International Airport

This day, our knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport and take you straight to your hotel, where you can spend the day relaxing. There will be no activities on this day. The Serena Hotel and the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa are two hotels to choose from.

02
Day 02: Kampala city tour

Starting with a pick-up from your Kampala or Entebbe hotel, our knowledgeable tour guide will give you a briefing before taking you on a magical 12-day gorilla and wildlife safari vacation in Uganda. We begin our journey with a sightseeing tour of some of Kampala’s most recognisable attractions, including the Uganda Museum (LUBIRI), which was founded in 1954 and houses priceless artefacts, antiques, and items of historical significance; the Kasubi Royal Tombs (MASIRO), which were built in 1882 and converted into burial grounds in 1884; these are the royal tombs of the deceased kings of the Buganda kingdom; and the Kabaka’s Palace.

We recommend either Café Javas or the Kampala Serena Hotel for lunch on your sightseeing tour. The Rubaga Cathedral, the spiritual centre of Uganda’s Catholics, was built in 1914 by missionaries and is a great place to visit after lunch. The Serena Hotel and the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa are two hotels to choose from.

03
Day 03: Transfer to Murchoson fall National park

Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and make your way out of Kampala, travelling through the northwest region of Uganda until you reach Murchison Falls National Park, the crown jewel of your safari holiday.

Your time at the historically important Luweero Triangle will be brief. Atrocities of this scale are what ultimately led to the present governing regime’s consolidation of power. Continue on to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which was set up to revive the dwindling population of white rhinos in Uganda after poaching severely reduced their numbers in the 1970s, after stopping for some refreshments to refuel. It’s possible to see white rhinos in their natural environment after visiting the sanctuary. The ranger guide will brief you on the appropriate and inappropriate methods of rhino tracking, and then you’ll set out on your two-hour journey.

Visit Kabalega Dinners for dinner after lunch, and then get on the road for Murchison Falls National Park as soon as you can. Guests may have meals and a place to stay at either the Chobe Safari Lodge, the Nile Safari Lodge, or the Paraa Safari Lodge.

04
Day 04: Full day at Murchoson fall National park

Sounds of the park’s plentiful fauna, such as crickets chirping, birds tweeting, and the fierce roar of waterfalls, will welcome you in the morning, providing an unsettling but fascinating start to your day. After a quick breakfast, you’ll go out to the park for the first of your safari vacation’s many exciting adventures. An expert ranger will take you on a wildlife drive around the northern bank and its environs. Visit the wildlife reserves of Buligi to observe grazing elephants, buffalo herds, beautiful giraffes, duikers, warthogs, reedbucks, bushbucks, the odd-looking Hartebeest, and the famous Uganda kob. An encounter with a lion is quite unlikely, whereas the ideal time to view a leopard is usually at night. The Shoebill Stork, Goliath Heron, Egyptian Goose, Pelican Bee-eater, Kingfisher, Hornbill, and Cormorant are just a few of the many bird species that make their homes here.

Take a boat safari up the tranquil Victoria Nile after lunch and you’ll arrive at the base of the falls, only feet from the infamous “Devil’s Cauldron.” Now is the time to leave the boat and begin the long climb up to the top of the falls. See where the world’s longest river plunges into a pool 43 metres below after plunging through a crack in the Rift Valley escarpment. Your driver or guide will be ready to take you back to the resort when you return.

05
Day 05: Transfer to Kibale national park

After having breakfast, you will depart from Murchison Falls National Park and go to Kibale Forest National Park. You will stop for rest and refreshments at Kahoora, the former capital of the Bunyoro Kitara King (Omukama), and Kabalega, currently known as Hoima. Following that, you will go to Kibale. You will stop for lunch on the way to Kibale, then visit Mukwano Tea Estate for a farm tour before continuing on to the well-known Bigodi wetland refuge. You may also go on a nocturnal stroll to see the unique night critters that emerge from their caves at dusk, such as the nightjar, potto, bush baby, cricket, tree hyrax, and the rare civet and serval cat. Guests may lodge at the Primate Lodge Kibale, the Crater Safari Lodge, or the Chimpundu Lodge.

06
Day 06: Chimps Trekking at Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth

You’ll have breakfast and then go to the park’s headquarters to be briefed before your chimpanzee trekking adventures. Kibale National Park is home to the greatest concentration of chimpanzees, and many habituated families make visiting the park a breeze. It won’t be long before you come across the endangered species with the help of a professional guide; you’ll be able to watch them going about their daily routines from a close range, from mothers nursing their infants to children playing and swinging in the trees to proud males making rounds and keeping a keen eye on their families, which is fascinating and makes for great opportunities to observe birds and primates. It’s time to get back to the lodge for some lunch before you check out. As you make your way to the park’s registration booth after lunch, you may want to keep an eye out for some of the park’s resident animals. Meals and lodging are available at Mweya Safari Lodge, Elephant Plains Lodge, and Kyambura Gorge Lodge.

07
Day 07: Queen Elizabeth National Park

The morning game drive in the “medley of marvels” that is Queen Elizabeth National Park will begin after breakfast and take you to the famed Ishasha sector, where you may get a glimpse of the park’s tree-climbing lions. A lion lazily sprawled out between tree trunks and branches is a sight to see, and you’ll get a great look at it if you take this incredible trip. See herds of buffalo, antelopes, elephants, and hippos in addition to the interesting lions. The Kazinga Channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George, and after lunch you’ll take a cruise along it. This launch cruise will be one of the highlights of your Uganda wildlife safari to Queen Elizabeth, a spectacular safari vacation spot with abundant bird life and sightings of elephants, buffaloes, and hundreds of hippos cooling down at the shoreline. Having enjoyed the sunset, you should go back to the hotel for supper.

08
Day 08: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetratable national park

Start your safari vacation in the southern portion of the “jewel of Africa,” Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, after a hearty breakfast. On your way to Bwindi, you’ll stop for lunch. Rest when you get there, then go out to see the locals—including the Batwa pygmies, the indigenous inhabitants of the forest who have lived alongside mountain gorillas and other animals for centuries.

Get ready for supper and a night at the Gorillas Lodge, Gorilla Heights Lodge, Gorilla Forest Camp, or Buhoma Lodge.

09
Day 09: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi impenetratable national park

After a hearty breakfast, visitors shall travel to the park’s headquarters to get a lecture on gorilla tracking etiquette from UWA guides and rangers before setting out on their day’s gorilla trekking trip. Prepare for the excursion by donning your raincoat, waterproof boots, and walking sticks. A gorilla tracking expedition might last anywhere from two to eight hours, making gorilla trekking an unexpected adventure. Get ready to trek for miles on end through inhospitable terrain (the floor is always damp) and treacherous terrain.

Get ready for supper and a night at the Gorillas Lodge, Gorilla Heights Lodge, Gorilla Forest Camp, or Buhoma Lodge.

10
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On the tenth day of your enchanted safari vacation, you will depart Bwindi very early in the morning and go to Lake Bunyonyi, getting there about lunchtime. This will be the first stop on your beautiful African adventure. Following lunch, you will go on a boat tour on Lake Bunyonyi until the evening, during which time you will visit the different islands that are located on the lake.

There are 29 islands in Lake Bunyonyi, the most well-known of which are Akampene (also known as Punishment Island), Bwama, and Njuyeera (also known as Sharp’s Island). Akampene was a place where unmarried pregnant females were left to starve and die. If you take a tour of the islands, you will have the opportunity to witness more than 200 different kinds of birds. The choice is yours between having dinner and retiring to bed at the Bunyonyi Bird Nest Resort or the Bunyonyi Safari Resort.

11
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

The next stop on your safari tour will be Lake Mburo National Park, near Mbarara. Mbarara is home to Lake Mburo National Park. After a stop for lunch and a visit to the Igongo Cultural Museum, you will resume your trip to the park. The park will be your next stop after that. Defassa waterbuck, buffalo, hippo, Impala, eland, zebra, Rothschild giraffe, and reedbuck are just some of the animals you could see on your approach to the park. About 350 species of birds may also be found in the park, adding to the diversity of flora and fauna.

After that, you’ll head out for an evening ride in the woods with the ranger guides, during which you’ll get to know Lake Mburo National Park and its herbivorous, human-friendly wildlife up close and personal on your bicycle. One of the three accommodations—the Emburara Farm Lodge, the Mihingo Safari Lodge, or the Mantana Tented Camp—will house the dining bands for the night.

12
Day 12: Transfer to Kampala

Your enchanted safari in Uganda will come to an end today after 12 days of adventure. Following breakfast, you will make your way back to Kampala after leaving Lake Mburo National Park by transfer. The aircraft to Kampala will proceed after a short layover at Kayabwe-Masaka. Lunch will be provided en way at a restaurant of your choosing.
