Situated approximately 90 kilometres northwest of Nairobi, the park covers an area of about 188 square kilometres, with Lake Naivasha as its centrepiece. Established in 1995 to protect the unique ecosystems surrounding the lake, the park offers visitors a chance to experience the beauty of East Africa's freshwater lakes and diverse wildlife.

Lake Naivasha is one of the few freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley and is famous for its stunning scenery, abundant birdlife, and thriving hippopotamus population. The park's landscape is characterized by acacia woodlands, papyrus swamps, and grassy plains, providing habitat for a wide variety of plant and animal species.
