Nairobi has much to do in a day. Your guide will take you up each morning. Visit the Daphne Sheldrick, a nursery and rehab facility for orphaned elephants, rhinos, zebras, and other animals, to begin exploring this lovely nation. Daphne was the first to nurture an orphaned elephant using a technique that is now commonly used.
David Sheldrick’s wife, Daphne, has devoted her life to conservation. These newborns are released into Tsavo East National Park and cared for by other reintroduced orphans. The Giraffe Center is supposed to raise endangered Rothschild giraffes. Jock Leslie-Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, and his wife Betty kidnapped a newborn giraffe to start a breeding program at Langata, where the facility is now.
Since then, the initiative has successfully introduced multiple Rothschild giraffe-breeding couples to Kenya’s national parks. Some stores are entertaining. We love Langata’s Utamaduni. Each room of this colonial mansion has been crafted by different tribes and craftspeople. They range from basic to complex. Kazuri Bead Factory.
The Karen Kazuri workshop’s ladies hand-shape each ceramic bead, which means “little and lovely” in Swahili. Before stringing, the beads are kiln fired, glazed, and then fired again. After lunch at Utamaduni, continue the day at the Karen Blixen Museum. You may learn about Kenya’s history by visiting Karen Blixen’s property. It gives a glimpse of colonial Nairobi life. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
