Day 01 : Kigoma To Mahale

Experience the beauty of Mahale Mountains National Park!

Embark on a captivating journey from Kigoma Town to Mahale Mountains National Park, where you'll traverse a picturesque route that meanders through verdant forests and offers breathtaking views of the pristine waters of Lake Tanganyika. Once you arrive, you can take a guided short walk, unwind on the park's immaculate beaches, or indulge in a picturesque sunset boat cruise on the lake.

Enjoy a delightful overnight stay at TANAPA Bandas, where all your meals are cared for.

Day 02:Mahale National Park

Your first chimpanzee trek will start after a healthy breakfast, taking you through the rash and dense jungle terrain of the Mahale Mountains. Your guide will lead you to the designated viewing area where you can observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. Keep your camera ready, as you may witness playful interactions, grooming sessions, or even a display of dominance among the group. After spending some time with the chimpanzees, you will make your way back to Bandas.

Take advantage of the evening free time for water sports or boat cruises. All meals are included.

Day 03-04:Mahale National Park

During days 3 and 4, you'll have the opportunity to embark on exciting chimpanzee treks in the morning or evening. Throughout these excursions, you'll have the chance to witness these captivating creatures in their untouched surroundings. Prepare to observe captivating scenes of primates gracefully navigating their arboreal habitat, engaging in social grooming rituals, and communicating through a diverse range of vocal expressions. Prepare to be amazed by an experience that will leave a lasting impression, fostering a profound appreciation for these magnificent creatures and the critical need to protect them.

Get ready for an exciting journey to Katavi National Park after enjoying a relaxing last evening in Mahale.

Day 05: Mahale To Katavi National Park

Embark on a boat sail from Mahale to Katumbi, followed by an exciting adventure in a 4x4 vehicle drive to Katavi National Park. The journey is quite lengthy, taking you through Mpanda, where a delicious lunch awaits, before continuing on to Katavi. Take a moment to relax and recharge before tomorrow's exciting wildlife adventure.

Overnight stay at TANAPA Bandas in Katavi, with all three meals to be served while here.

Day 06-07: Katavi National Park

Days six and seven will be dedicated to thrilling day and night game drives in Katavi National Park. During these drives, you'll get to witness the remarkable range of wildlife that resides in Katavi. Witnessing the majestic herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as the elusive predators like lions and leopards, the park provides an unforgettable safari experience. Our experienced guides are experts at helping you spot animals and sharing captivating insights about their behaviours and habitats. Moreover, you will be able to appreciate the breathtaking beauty of Katavi's landscapes, ranging from expansive plains to lush forests and winding rivers. Through every game drive, you will develop a greater admiration for the untouched wilderness and its incredible natural beauty and biodiversity.

Day 08:Katavi To Sumbawanga

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Katavi to Sumbawanga. This vibrant town serves as the entrance to the breathtaking Kalambo Falls, which happens to be the second-highest uninterrupted waterfall in Africa. Immerse yourself in the charm of Sumbawanga as you explore the bustling markets and soak in the vibrant local culture. This delightful town is the perfect stop to add a touch of excitement to your journey.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the charming Southern Corridor Hotel, complete with a delicious dinner.

Day 09:Kalambo Waterfall & Lake Tanganyika Beach

Following an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to visit the majestic Kalambo Waterfalls. Upon reaching the waterfalls, prepare to be amazed by the majestic sight of the cascading waters, plunging over 770 feet into the gorge below. Take a moment to unwind and appreciate the breathtaking beauty of this natural wonder before continuing your journey to Lake Tanganyika. There, you can indulge in some well-deserved relaxation before returning to your hotel in Sumbawanga.

Day 10:Sumbawanga To Mbeya

Make sure to have a substantial breakfast before embarking on a long drive from Sumbawanga to Mbeya. Indulge in the breathtaking 330 km drive, making sure to pause and savour the stunning landscapes of Tanzania along the way. Enjoy an optional evening stroll in Mbeya, getting ready for the exciting adventure to Kitulo tomorrow.

Enjoy an overnight stay and indulge in a delicious dinner at the G. Town Hotel or a hotel of similar quality.

Day 11: Kitulo National Park

The eleventh day begins with a journey to Kitulo National Park after breakfast. Kitulo National Park, the "Serengeti of Flowers," has spectacular wildflowers and scenery. A guided walking tour of the park will reveal rare orchids and other plants. A picnic lunch overlooking the park gives you a day to explore before unwinding at JM Ngogo's Resort at Matamba.

Day 12:DEPARTURE

Farewell, Tanzania!

Thhis Western and Southern Tanzania adventure ends on day 12. We'll drive you to Mbeya or Songwe airports for your flight home.
